The corporation Microsoft has added its AI assistant Copilot to the autostart of Windows 11.
This was reported in the MSPowerUser.
Initially, Copilot was thrown into autostart in Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23615. But the idea was abandoned. However, last week Copilot appeared again in Insider Build 26100.
These changes were confirmed by a senior Microsoft Insider program manager.
Developers and experts named these changes disgusting and annoying, as it "resembles the behavior of some annoying third-party application."
However, there is one caveat here: Copilot will only appear on startup on certain monitors. A minimum screen diagonal of 27 inches and a resolution of 1920 pixels are required for this.
Microsoft is likely to significantly expand or even set Copilot to autostart on any system in the future.
Windows 11 Insider users who do not want to see Copilot can disable it in the task manager, just like any other annoying autostart program.
It is worth noting that Microsoft has recently been delighting users with frequent Copilot advertisements - there were banners in the "Settings" interface in Windows 11 promoting subscriptions to the service.
There was also a case where some Windows 11 users were shown a huge QR code in the center of the lock screen that redirected to the Copilot download page.
Furthermore, it is worth reminding that Microsoft has changed the keyboard for the first time in 30 years, adding a quick launch key for Copilot.
