Apple has stated that it is working on fixing an issue on some iPhones that has caused alarms not to sound at the set time.
The problem was first reported on the TODAY Show on NBC, after users began posting complaints on social media. It is unknown how widespread the error is, but it does not affect everyone.

Apple did not specify when the fix will be released, but the MacRumors website suggests that it may be included in a future software update iOS 17.4.2 or iOS 17.5.
It is believed that the issue is related to "Attention Aware" - a feature that allows the device to monitor the user's attention. For example, if the iPhone owner is looking at the device (detected through the front camera) - the phone may lower the volume of notifications. It is likely that at the moment the option is malfunctioning: to disable it, go to the settings menu, and then to "Face ID & Passcode."
