The Stellantis concern plans to use ChatGPT in Peugeot cars to improve the voice assistant, joining competitors such as Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz.

We will implement ChatGPT in all vehicles, including the new model e-3008, and small commercial vehicles.

— Jerome Misheran, Peugeot Product Plan Director.

Peugeot will launch a pilot version of the ChatGPT service, which will be able to connect to the car's management system and answer many common or navigation-related questions, in five countries - France, UK, Germany, Italy, and Spain. It is planned that the service will become standard equipment already this year.

Last year, Mercedes-Benz began trials in the USA, giving drivers the opportunity to use ChatGPT, stating that this should help to provide more natural responses and handle requests ranging from destination details to dinner suggestions, as reported by Reuters.

Volkswagen announced earlier this month that by mid-year its voice assistant will be integrated with ChatGPT to facilitate interactive dialogue with drivers. Peugeot also stated that it will introduce a new eight-year warranty on the e-3008, compared to the current two-year warranty on traditional vehicles, in an attempt to encourage drivers to switch to electric cars.
