According to the publisher Hooded Horse, the medieval city-building simulator Manor Lords, which was released on April 26, crossed the 1 million copies sold mark on the first day. Also, the maximum number of simultaneous players in Hooded Horse exceeded 173,000.

This is the highest number for city-building games, sims, and the like. In particular, this means that the game has surpassed titles such as Cities: Skylines and Civilization in terms of launch on Steam.

Manor Lords is a medieval strategy game with advanced city building, massive battles, and complex social and economic simulation. The game was developed by the studio Slavic Magic, founded by Greg Stich. In a Twitter post, he mentioned some upcoming changes in the next game patch.

  • Fixing all strange homeless bugs
  • Fixing the damage inflicted by archers
  • Fixing the trade oversupply mechanics
  • Slowing down the rate of the AI claiming territories

Players start Manor Lords with a few groups of village residents, primary resources, and a single ox. Initially, they work on resource gathering and lumber production. Eventually, the residents move from camps to houses built by players, leading to the expansion of villages and cities and an increase in the workforce. However, sometimes the population needs to be subordinated. The game doesn't always work correctly in this regard:

"I built my first couple of houses, but families are not moving in. Instead, I still get alerts about homeless people..." one player wrote on Steam.

"I ALWAYS have 5 people who are constantly homeless, even though I have more than enough land. I can't do anything about it," another player wrote on Reddit.

"I encountered an error, my 5 families are not moving into the built house, but any new family that comes to the city moves there, so now I have 4 families that moved and 5 homeless, even though half of the houses are empty," another player writes on Discord.

One of the current reasons for the characters' strange behavior is an error that prevents burned houses from being restored. Another major issue is that upgrading initial family camps will result in residents never moving to neighboring plots until the camps are destroyed. Furthermore, even if the homelessness issue is resolved, a corresponding negative modifier may persist for some time.

However, the developer promises to address these bugs in the upcoming patch. In the Ukrainian Steam, the game is priced at 449 UAH with a 25% discount until May 10, and it features Ukrainian text localization.
