Fallout 76 players blew up Phil Spencer's camp with a nuke - revenge for Bethesda studios closure

Players have found a unique way to get back at Xbox CEO Phil Spencer for closing several Bethesda studios and leaving the fate of games uncertain - they destroyed his camp in Fallout 76.

Phil's camp is located in the center of a bright red circle. After completing a long chain of quests, players can gain access to nuclear launch sites around Appalachia. Launch facilities can be activated, and nuclear weapons can be directed to specific locations on the map. This was one of the features that horrified fans after the game's announcement.

The possible "culprit" was quickly identified. User X Twitter real1090jake, presumably encountering Spencer in the game, was identified based on videos and screenshots. Commentators in X mostly approve of the act. Moreover, it seems that Spencer's base has been attacked before.

On one hand, many Fallout 76 players dislike such things that undermine people's efforts in development and construction. On the other hand, this is a decent way of symbolic revenge, which, even though it doesn't change anything, allows some to "let off steam" and add some unpleasant moments for someone.
