According to a new report from Piper Sandler, 85% of surveyed teenagers in the United States own an iPhone and are not planning to switch to another brand.

34% of teenagers use Apple Watch — the figures are similar to the report from last fall. At the same time, intentions to purchase Apple smartwatches among zoomers have increased — 13% plan to buy the device within the next 6 months. Overall, only 39.4% of teenagers use smartwatches, which is why Apple Watch unquestionably leads in this segment.

The most popular music service among teenagers turned out to be Spotify — used by almost two-thirds of those surveyed, while only 30% use Apple Music.

The Apple TV+ service is not in high demand among teenage audiences — less than 5% of those surveyed watch it daily. For comparison, 30% of teenagers choose Netflix daily — and almost as many use YouTube.

Apple Pay has become the most popular payment platform among zoomers — 44% used it in the last month. At the same time, for peer-to-peer money transfers, preferences are given to Cash and Venmo.

Piper Sandler surveyed 6020 teenagers in 47 US states in the spring of 2024.

The dominance of Apple products among teenagers is one of the indicators that the US Department of Justice relies on in its antitrust lawsuit against the company. Lawyers suggest that the popularity of its products causes social problems for teenagers and pressure that forces them to only use Apple devices.
