The corporation Google has fired the entire Python team in the USA.

This became known from the publication on Social.coop on Mastodon, reported by Hacker News.

In the new report by Free Press Journal, it is stated that the company under the leadership of Sundar Pichai fired the entire Python team in order to hire cheaper labor.

Google will create a new team from scratch in Munich, Germany.

The American Python team has fewer than 10 employees, who curated a significant part of the Python ecosystem in Google. Their work included support for the stable version of Python in Google and updating thousands of third-party developers' packages.

"It's a tough day when everyone you work directly with, including your manager, is laid off, I mean, sorry, 'your role is being reduced,'" one of the laid-off company employees said.

It should be noted, it recently became known about layoffs at Google in the real estate and finance departments. Google's Chief Financial Officer Ruth Porat sent an email to employees, informing them that the restructuring involves expansion in Bangalore, Mexico City, and Dublin.

In January, Google laid off hundreds of employees in several teams, including engineering teams, hardware teams, and assistants, as the company increases investments and develops artificial intelligence offerings.
