At the end of last week, some characteristics of the future gaming console PlayStation 5 Pro became known. Now the resource Insider Gaming has added some new details about this device.

In addition to the performance characteristics of the graphics subsystem, this time we are talking about the system memory, which will also receive higher performance. If the memory bandwidth of the standard version of PlayStation 5 is 448 GB/s (14 GT/s), then in the case of PlayStation 5 Pro it is 576 GB/s (18 GT/s). The speed increase is 28% compared to the standard console. It is also noted that the system memory of PlayStation 5 Pro is more efficient than that of the standard console, so the increase in bandwidth may exceed 28%.

The processor, apparently, is identical to the standard model of PlayStation 5. However, for the PlayStation 5 Pro model, a High CPU Frequency Mode is provided. When activated, the CPU frequency increases to 3.85 GHz - 10% more than the regular console. Since more power is consumed by the CPU in High CPU Frequency Mode, the GPU frequency decreases by approximately 1.5%, which leads to a decrease in GPU performance by about 1%.

ACV in PlayStation 5 Pro operates at a higher clock frequency than in the standard PlayStation 5, thanks to which the ACM library has a 35% higher performance.

Additionally, to make PlayStation 5 Pro as competitive as possible, it will have a removable disk drive, identical to the latest iteration of the standard PlayStation 5, as well as a 1 TB storage drive.

Currently, PlayStation 5 Pro is running on SDK 9.00, and the release of SDK 10.00 is expected in the fall of 2024, which is the current planned release date of the console.
